Minister Purnomo installs new senior officials

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro installed on Thursday several senior officials into new positions in the ministry.

Simon Sembiring, who just retired from being a ministerial expert staff for financial and economic affairs, was appointed as a ministerial special staff for mining affairs. Purnomo said Simon had the main task of socializing the Mineral and Coal Law No. 4/2009.

Thamrin Sihite, previously the ministerial expert staff for public and institutional affairs, was installed as the head of energy and mineral resources training and education.

Irwan Bahar, previously the head of energy and mineral resources training and education, was installed as the ministerial expert staff for financial and economic affairs.

Mochamad Teguh Pamudji, previously the secretary of directorate general of oil and gas, was installed as the ministerial expert staff for public and institutional affairs.

Purnomo said Teguh was given the special task of overseeing the implementation of new laws related to the ministry, including Oil and Gas Law, Geothermal Law, Mineral and Coal Law, Energy Law as well as the future Electricity Law, whose bill is being proposed to the House of Representatives.

Purnomo also installed Rida Mulyana, previously the head of research and development at LEMIGAS, the ministry's research center, as the new secretary of the directorate general of oil and gas. (bernard)
