Minister says dispute on two coal firms in South Sumatra already settled

Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi said that the dispute of two coal firms PT Gorby Putra Utama (PT GPU) dan PT Sentosa Kurnia Energi (PT SKE) has been addressed by the governor.

Minister Gamawan said that as the dispute of the border (two district border) was in the province, the settlement was not necessary at the ministry level, it is appropriate at the level of governor.

"We have settled the border problem, Yesterday a decision was made by governor. So we stick to it," he told Petromindo.com at the State Palace. "Only if the governor is not able to handle the problem, then it would be ours," said Gamawan.

Energy Minister Jero Wacik suggested firms to always cooperate on mining sector to get more benefits. "On mining industry, I always suggest for companies to keep cooperating, sharing with each other. Please do not fight. If disputing firms fight, they are not going to get any benefit and may trouble themselves further for having to go to the court," Wacik told Petromindo.com also at the state palace when asked for his comments on the case.
