Minister set to approve allocation of Tangguh LNG for PLTGU Jawa-1 project

State Minister of State Owned Enterprises Rini Sumarno is expected to soon approve the allocation of LNG from Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua Province for the PLTGU Jawa-1 gas and coal-fired power plant project.

Head of Fuel Oil and LNG Division at state-owned electricity firm PT PLN Chairanni Rachmatullah told Petromindo.com on Friday that a team from the Office of the State Minister of State Owned Enterprises has approve the transaction, and is now waiting for the signing of a formal letter of agreement by Rini.

As has been previously reported, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has approved the allocation of 14-20 cargoes of LNG per year from the Tangguh plant for the PLTGU Jawa-1 project for a period of 15 years.

A consortium of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, Marubeni Corporation, and Sojitz Corporation has won tender for the development of the 1,760 MW PLGTU Jawa-1 project. The consortium has signed the power purchase agreement with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
