Minister sets electricity price from photovoltaics plants

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik has issued a ministerial regulation No.7/2013 regarding the purchase price of electricity to be applied by state-owned electricity company PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for electricity produced by photovoltaics solar power plants.
According to a copy of the ministerial regulation received Tuesday, PLN will purchase the electricity at a ceiling price of 25 US cents per kWh. The price is valid for 20 years.
The regulation said that photovoltaics power plants using at least 40 percent local components will be given an incentive in the form of a higher selling price of 30 US cents per kWh.
