Minister to appoint acting director general of mineral, coal

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said is expected to select one of the ministry's senior officials to be acting director general of mineral and coal to replace R. Sukhyar who will enter pension May 1.

Ministry Secretary General Teguh Pamuji said Thursday that the appointment of an acting director general will be made if President Joko Widodo by Friday has yet to select one of the existing five candidates for the post.

Meanwhile, outgoing Director General of Mineral and Coal Sukhyar on Thursday told Petromindo.com that the minister is likely to appoint Teguh as the acting director general before a permanent official is named.
