Minister to issue new regulation on oil, gas safety management

A new Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources regulation on oil and gas safety management, and technical inspection of installations in the sector is expected to be completed this year.

This was said by Head of the Legal Division at the ministry?s Directorate General of Oil and Gas, Safriansyah (one name), in a statement issued Wednesday following a meeting in Bali to disseminate information about the planned new regulation.

He said that the new regulation is expected to help improve safety aspect in the oil and gas industry in the country.

Safriansyah said that there are three main points in the planned new regulation including oil and gas safety management system, evaluation of installation design, and technical inspection.
