Minister to visit Iraq and Jordan

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro will visit Iraq and Jordan this week to submit letters from President Megawati Soekarnoputri to the leaders of both countries, a senior official of state oil and gas company Pertamina said Wednesday.
Iin Arifin Takhyan, Pertamina?s upstream director, told Petromindo. Com he will accompany Purnomo during the journey together with director general of oil and gas Rachmat Sudibyo.
They will start the journey on Friday and return to the country on April 27.
In Iraq, aside from submitting Megawati?s letter to Iraq?s President Saddam Hussein, Purnomo will also hold talks with the Iraqi government on cooperation between Iraq and Indonesia in oil exploration, Iin said. (Godang)
