The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has approved the allocation of LNG from the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua for PLTGU Jawa-1 combined-cycle power plant project.

Head of Fuel Oil and LNG Division at state-owned electricity firm PT PLN Chairanni Rachmatullah told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that 14-20 cargoes of LNG per year from the Tangguh plant will be allocated for the PLTGU Jawa-1 project for a period of 15 years.

?Hopefully, (the agreement) can be signed end of February 2017. The approval of MEMR has been obtained, it is now in the process of approval by the Office of the State Minister of State Owned Enterprises,? Chairanni said, without providing further details.

A consortium of PT Pertamina, Marubeni Corporation, and Sojitz Corporation has won tender for the development of the 1,760 MW PLGTU Jawa-1 project. The consortium last month signed the power purchase agreement with PLN.
