The Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform has approved a proposal to set up a new directorate in charge of managing non-tax state revenue from the mining sector under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources? (MEMR) Directorate General of Mineral and Coal.

?It has been approved, there will be a new directorate for state revenue,? said MEMR Spokesman Sujatmiko on Tuesday.

He said that the new directorate is expected to help optimize the non-tax state revenue from the country?s mining sector.

Sujatmiko added that the management of the non-tax state revenue under the Directorate General of Mineral Coal had been less optimum due to a combination of lack of human resources and authority. He said that the new directorate will have dedicated manpower and greater authority in managing the non-tax state revenue.

He added that the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform has also approved the proposal to set up a new directorate for planning and infrastructure development, respectively at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, and Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy.
