The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has approved plans to build two mini refineries, each with capacity of 10,000 bpd, in Bojonegoro, East Java Province, and that the required crude supply will entirely come from the Cepu block, which spans Central and East Java provinces, according to a local official.

The ministry has set a deadline for the two consortiums planning to build the refineries to complete them in two years after obtaining the principle agreement, Antara quoted on Friday Ganesha Asyari, Head of Cooperating Body of Participating Interest (PI) holders in Cepu block. The body is a grouping of four local governments in Central Java and East Java which have PI in the block.

?The MEMR has recently approved the development of two mini refineries in Bojonegoro by two consortiums, which will obtain crude supply from Cepu block,? Ganesha said.

Ganesha said that two consortiums include a consortium comprising of local regency-owned company PT Bangkit Bangun Sarana (BBS) and PT Tiera Energi Jakarta; and a consortium led by PT PSI (Humpus Group). (*)
