Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan had on May 31 issued new Ministerial Decree No 2157/K/10/MEM/2017 on the assignment for state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina to build and operate fuel oil and LPG tanks as part of efforts to help ensure supply across the country.
According to copy of the decree obtained by Petromnindo.com on Wednesday, Pertamina will also be in charge of developing the required supporting infrastructure facilities such as jetty. The company will use its investment budget to finance the projects.
The decree says that Pertamina shall prioritize regions that mostly require the storage facilities. It also says that the company must complete construction of the fuel and LPG storage tanks by 2019 at the latest.
Once the new decree becomes effective, the previous Ministerial Decree No 806/K/12/MEM/2016 on the assignment for Pertamina to build and operate fuel oil and LPG storage tanks is nullified.
