Ministry delays post border inspection of steel import

The Ministry of Trade has decided to delay the planned post border inspection of imported steel products to next year, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

The paper said that according to new Ministerial Regulation No 71/2017, the post border inspection scheme will be applied starting February 2018.

The ministry?s Director General of International Trade Oke Nurwan said that the delay was made because the government has yet to complete the post border inspection mechanism. Changes are required because under the current system, steel import inspection is made at customs area. (*)
