Ministry designates 9 new geothermal working areas

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has issued a decree to designate nine new geothermal working areas ready to be offered to investors.
The nine working areas have potential resources totaling 1030 MW with total development capacity of 555 MW or 54 percent of the total resources. Investment needed to develop the capacity is estimated at US$2.1 billion.
The issuance of the decree on the nine working areas was announced during the 3rd Indo EBTKE 2014 Conference and Exhibition on Wednesday in Jakarta.
