The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has once again extended the tenure of the current nine-member committee of the downstream oil and gas regulator BPH Migas as selection process for the regulator?s new leadership has yet to be completed.
?It has been extended again until selection of the new BPH Migas committee has been completed,? said Special Staff of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for Communications, Hadi Djuraid to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.
BPH Migas is governed by a committee, whose current chairman and members were installed in 2011 to lead the regulatory body for a five-year period. The previous minister extended for a year the tenure of the committee in 2015 as selection process had not been completed yet. The minister proposes the candidates of the new BPH Migas committee to the president, who will then submit it to the House of Representatives for approval process.
According to information obtained by this portal there are 22 individuals including current Chairman Andi Noorsaman Sommeng, Fuel Director Hendri Ahmad, and Gas Director Umi Asngadah who have applied for the new BPH Migas leadership.
