The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has added one more directorate general within its supervision by splitting the director general of Geology and Mineral Resources into two divisions.
The split has increased the number of directorate generals within the ministry into five including; the Directorate of Geology, Directorate of Mineral Resources, Directorate of Oil and Gas, Directorate of Electricity and Energy Usage, and Directorate General of Coal and Geothermal.
Secretary General of the ministry Luluk Sumiaro said in Jakarta on Wednesday that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had issued a decree on the revamp but the President had yet to name the new director general.
According to him, the director general is appointed by the President upon the recommendation from Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. (dino)
