Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has transferred the authority in issuing a recommendation to companies qualified to enter the country’s oil and gas downstream industry to director general of oil and gas as part of the government’s commitment to ease licensing procedures within the ministry, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Friday.
The transfer of the authority in issuing the recommendation is contained in the regulation No: 1952K/20/MEM/2005 issued by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jakarta recently.
Under the new regulation, director general of oil and gas is allowed to give a recommendation to both local and foreign companies qualified to enter downstream industry in the oil and gas sector such as those related to oil and gas processing.
The minister also issued a regulation on competency standardization for technical experts working in electricity related activities such as those involved in the manufacturing of electricity equipment, design and power control. (*)
