The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has returned the plan of development (POD) of the Wain block to upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas for reevaluation as it contains costs deemed too expensive, according to a source.

?A meeting at the ministry decided to return the POD of Wain block to SKK Migas,? the source told Petromindo.com on Wednesday.

The Wain block, located in Pasir Penajam, East Kalimantan Province, is fully owned by PT Pandawa Prima Lestari.

Pandawa?s Head of General Affairs and Support Division, Dwi Djatmiko confirmed the meeting at the ministry.

Dwi said in March that the company hoped to start production at Wain block in early 2018. The company has also previously said it has found gas at the Karamba Updip-1 exploration well in the Wain block. The company had previously signed MoUs for the sales of gas from the Wain block with three buyers including PT Medco EP Indonesia, PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), and Humpuss.
