The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will bolster the role of its Research and Development Agency in developing Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technology to accelerate findings in new oil and gas reserves.

"The transfer of EOR technology later will be able to increase the added value in the oil and gas sector, as well as efforts to accelerate the development of new renewable energy," said Deputy Minister Susilo Siswoutomo at the Institute of Oil and Gas (Lemigas) office on Tuesday.

Susilo added that they will optimize the role and performance of the institution to be able to contribute more in facilitating the implementation of technological developments and capacity building within the business sectors covered by Energy and Mineral Resources.

"I hope that the Agency can play a role in problem solving and in increasing the efficiency in the processing and refining of minerals, validation of new technology, control technology, technology transfer and economic feasibility studies," said Susilo, without elaborating.
