The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that it has sent back the revised Plan of Development (PoD) for Gehem field in Rapak block and Gendalo field in Ganal block in East Kalimantan to Chevron Indonesia Company (CICo), the operator of the block, saying the PoD is incomplete.

"Chevron submitted the PoD at the end of 2015, but the content of the PoD document is lacking and incomplete. Therefore, the PoD was sent back to Chevron," Djoko Siswanto, Director for the Management of Upstream Activities at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, told Petromindo.com recently.

Director General of Oil and Gas IGN Wiratmaja said that Chevron is still committed to continuing the Indonesian Deepwater Development (IDD) gas project.

Chevron submitted the revised PoD for two fields to the ministry on Dec. 31, 2015. Both fields, which are part of the IDD gas project, are scheduled to come onstream in 2022 and 2023, Planning Deputy at SKK Migas Gunawan Sutadiwiria said earlier.

The IDD project comprises of four gas blocks including Ganal, Rapak, Makassar Strait, and Muara Bakau, covering five fields including Bangka, Gehem, Gendalo, Maha, and Gandang. Ganal, Rapak, and Makassar Strait are operated by CICo, while Muara Bakau by Eni Spa. According to an earlier estimate, the IDD project is able to produce 1,270 mmscfd of gas at peak production.
