Ministry signs bioenergy agreement with Central Kalimantan

Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) Rida Mulyana signed on Monday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Kalimantan?s Governor Agustin Teras Narang and two regents in the province on cooperation to develop bioenergy. The two regents are Edy Pratowo of Pulang Pisang and Ahad Yantenglie of Katingan.
Present at the signing ceremony was Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said.
Under the agreement which is effective five years and is extendable, the ministry, province and regencies will cooperate in developing bioenergy in critical lands and former mining sites in both regencies. A 20-ha bioenergy forest will be developed in Kalampangan, Palangkaraya.
