Ministry signs contract for 41,000 household gas connections in Cirebon

The Directorate General of Oil and Gas under the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has signed contracts for the first phase of a household gas network (Jargas) project in Cirebon Regency, West Java, covering around 41,000 household connections.

The contracts were signed on May 20 as part of the government’s program to expand household use of natural gas and support national energy security.

State-owned engineering company PT PGAS Solution, a unit of gas distribution firm PT Persero) Tbk (PGN) (IDX: PGAS) was appointed as the construction contractor, while PT Surveyor Indonesia will serve as the project supervision consultant.

Director of Oil and Gas Infrastructure Planning and Development Agung Kuswardono said the project is expected to be completed on schedule and meet quality standards before handover.

The first phase of the project will cover household gas connections in the districts of Palimanan, Gempol, Depok and Dukupuntang in Cirebon Regency.

Construction began on May 20, 2026 and is targeted for completion by Dec. 31, 2026.
