Ministry surveys gas reserves in W. Sumatra

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has sent a work team to survey gas reserves in Singkarak block, West Sumatra, Neraca Daily reported on Wednesday.

?The team is now working on the site. They are expected to make a conclusion in 2008 so that the outcome can be followed up soon," said Oyong Andawarneri, Head of the West Sumatra Provincial Mining and Energy Office, in Padang on Tuesday.

"The survey is rather aimed to ascertain the existence of natural gas reserves in the block even though it reportedly has oil deposit,? he said. (*)
