Ministry to form team to support energy infrastructure development

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is forming a special team comprising representatives of govenrment agencies and state owned companies involved in oil, gas and power industry to accelerate the development of infrastructures in the sectors.

The ministry will issue a decree to establish the so-called Public Private Partnership (PPP) Node for Energy Sector in the near future, according to the ministry's head of plannning and overseas cooperation bureau Thamrin Sihite.

Thamrin said the team would consist of the representatives of the ministry's secretary general, directorate of oil and gas, directorate of electricity and energy development, oil and gas downstream authority BPH Migas, and state-owned firms PT Pertamina, PT PLN and PT PGN.

The team would assist BPH Migas, state-owned electricity firm PT PLN and the regional administration to prepare the feasibility study, document tender, and negotiation for oil and power projects, Thamrin said.

He added that the node will closely work together with similar teams in other sectors, such as manpower, finance and transportation, under the coordination of the National Committee for the Acceleration of Infrastructure Development (KKPPI). (godang)
