The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will issue the feed-in tariffs for ?rooftop solar power plant? to encourage the public to develop the new energy.
?Investors would not be interested to do the business, unless there has been clear feed-in tariffs for rooftop solar power. We are drafting the feed-in tariffs and hope it will completed by the end of July of this year,? Maritje Hutapea, Director of Miscellaneous New and Renewable Energies at the Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), said on Friday.
She noted a solar power plant needs huge plant to develop, while lands in big cities are now very expensive to buy. As a solution, the government will urge investors to install solar cell panel on the rooftops of buildings.
She said the ministry will hold tenders for investors to develop the rooftop solar power plants.
Besides, the ministry is holding talks on the possibility of developing rooftop solar power plants in four airports in eastern Indonesia, namely in Tembulaka, Maumere, Labuhan Bajo and Sumba Island.
