Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi said that his ministry plans to make a verification process on some 1,500 bylaws issued by regional administrations, most of them on mining and plantation sectors, and would annul local rules which are against regulations at higher level.

Minister Gamawan said that the verification process was targeted to be completed by 2014.

"We have to verify 1,500 regulations, it is a target. The completion is expected by the end of this cabinet term (2014)," he told Petromindo.com at the State Palace on Wednesday.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on June 10 that many regulations in the regions issued by heads of district nationwide were against the environmental aspects and other laws, and they must be revoked.
