Ministry unveils new list of C&C IUPs

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources unveiled on Monday the 19th batch of IUP mining business permits which have obtained the so-called clear and clean (C&C) status.

The ministry also announced list of IUPs revoked by governors, regents, and mayors.

In accordance with the existing regulations, mining companies who have met the required administrative requirements and fulfilled their financial obligations to the state as well as their mining concessions are not overlapping with other concessions or forest areas will be given the C&C status.

Meanwhile, those failing to meet the aforementioned requirement will be revoked.

According to the announcement, 65 IUPs meet the criteria for C&C status as set under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No 43/2015. Meanwhile, 353 IUPs were revoked.

The ministry said that IUPs which have not been revoked must coordinate with the provincial governments to meet the requirements for the C&C status.
