Mirach encounters pay zones at Kampung Minyak

Singapore-listed Mirach Energy said that it had successfully completed the drillings of three new infill wells--KM-600, KM-601 and KM-606-- at Kampung Minyak oil field in South Sumatra, and encountered oil-bearing sandstone layers.

The KM-601 displayed excellent natural reservoir pressure without water injection, while KM-600 and KM-606 displayed promising oil extraction potential, Mirach Energy said in a press statement on Monday

This is the first batch of the twelve new infill wells planned to be drilled at Kampung Minyak and the operations are headed by its subsidiary, PT Kampung Minyak, and partner, CNPC Daqing Oilfield Company?s unit, PT Daqing Jaya Petroleum Engineering.

Currently, well logging and testing was completed for KM-600 and KM-601, and well perforations are being carried out at the different layers of pay-zones in order to maximize oil extraction from each well. KM-606 well is now being tested and will be perforated accordingly.

A stabilized rate of production is expected to be achieved from these wells by December upon the completion of the perforations and setting up of a production tree.
