SGX-listed Mirach Energy announced that its subsidiary, Prisma Kampung Minyak Limited (PKM), on Tuesday spudded a new deeper well at KM13-A in Kampung Minyak Oil Field (KM), South Sumatra.
This is the first deeper well that PKM is drilling to target the prospective resources at KM. KM13-A will be exploring a drill depth of 990 metres through the STC zone to Suban-7 zones and then further to Suban-8 to Suban-12 zones. The drilling is expected to take approximately 26 days barring unforeseen circumstances. The Suban-8 to Suban-12 sits on the Air Benakat Formation and historically only four wells with log data penetrate this sequence, and only one well goes deep enough to cover all the zones to Suban-13, the company said in a statement.
PT. Daqing Jaya Petroleum Engineering will drill at KM13-A under the Integrated Project Management contract with KM while PT. Henan Petroleum Indonesia will provide the mud logging services, according to the firm.
Uniteq Energy Services Pte. Ltd., the oilfield services unit of Mirach Energy Limited, will provide consultancy to the new drilling to ensure control and quality of reservoir protection and well completion work.
