PT Mitra CTM Swire, the operator of transhipper called ?Princesse Chloe?, will start commercial operation by the end of this February or early March at the latest for East Kalimantan coal miner PT Berau Coal

The company?s official Richard Sell told Petromindo.Com last week that currently the transhipper is on the rig in East Kalimantan water. It departed from the Subic shipyard in the Philippines.

Princesse Chloe has a nominal transshipment throughput of 50,000 tonnes per day with a guaranteed minimum average of 32,000 tonnes a day, and also has a 2,200 tonnes-per-hour telescopic shiploader.

The transshipper is working for Berau Coal under long-term contract.

In order to maximize the operational window, the Princesse Chloe has been designed with the capability to load up to largest-sized vessels on the both vessel?s sides and is equipped with combined ?roll damping sytems? to reduce the rolling and pitching motions during bad weather, telescopic belt-ship-loader with trimming chute, thus avoiding broken space.

Mitra CTM Swire is a joint venture between local shipping firm PT Mitrabahtera Segara Sejahtera and Swire CTM Bulk Logistics, which is equally owned by the China Navigation Company Limited [CNCo] part of the Swire Group (a multi-national, multi-disciplined commercial group with over 130 years of experience in shipping) and, C Transport Maritime [CTM] part of Ceres Shipping Group.

Mitra CTM Swire also operates transshipper ?Princess Abby? for Berau Coal with average loading rate of 23,500 tonnes per day and guaranteed rate of 18,000 tonnes per day. (denny)
