Southeast Asia-focused privately owned upstream firm Mitra Energy Limited plans to drill one exploration well in Bone PSC offshore South Sulawesi in 2015.
The company has reprocessed 1,198 line km of vintage 2D seismic data and acquired 1,597 line km of 2D seismic data in 2011. In 2012, additional vintage 2D seismic data was processed and fieldwork to the adjacent onshore area was conducted.
According to the company?s website, a 2D seismic survey is planned in 2014 in the area that was not covered by the previous survey. New geology field data on the critical risk of charge is being evaluated.
?This, with the new seismic data, is expected to mature at least one relatively low-risk prospect in shallow water for drilling in 2015,? the company said.
The Bone PSC is situated in Bone Bay, offshore South Sulawesi, and lies in water depths extending from the coast to over 2,000m. The block covers an area of 7,516 km?.
Mitra has 100 percent interest in the block, which was awarded in 2010.
