Privately-held independent oil, gas exploration firm Mitra Energy Limited that its wholly owned subsidiary Mitra Energy Biliton Pte Ltd, which operates the Biliton block offshore Java, is going to conduct tender process to support drilling activities later this year.
The company said in a tender announcement on Wednesday that the drilling will be carried out at the fourth quarter of 2013, about two quarters later than an earlier plan.
Mitra did not provide explanations for the delay.
The Biliton PSC covers an area of 1,302 km square and lies offshore West Java in water depths of less than 50m.
The block is part of the Biliton Basin, which has only three existing well penetrations. Mitra acquired the Biliton PSC from Serica Energy and Nations Petroleum in April 2009.
