Mitra to start drillings at Biliton

The oil and gas exploration firm Mitra Energy Ltd, said that its wholly owned subsidiary Mitra Energy Biliton Pte Ltd will conduct drilling activities at its Biliton block, offshore Java.
The company said in a tender announcement on Wednesday that the drilling was planned to be carried out in the second quarter of 2013.
The Biliton PSC covers an area of 1,302 km square and lies offshore West Java in water depths of less than 50m. The block is part of the Biliton Basin, which has only three existing well penetrations.
Mitra acquired the Biliton PSC from Serica Energy and Nations Petroleum in April 2009.
