Mitrabara seeks to finalize FS for biogas power plant in H1 2016

IDX-listed coal company PT Mitrabara Adiperdana Tbk targets to complete the feasibility study (FS) for the biogas power plant project in the first semester of this year. Aside from doing the FS, the firm is also making early preparations for the construction of the power plant.

Corporate Secretary Chandra Lautan said barring any obstacles, the project is expected to come onstream in 2018. Two subsidiaries of the firm will provide raw materials for the power plant and operate it respectively.

For the moment, the firm plans to build a power plant with a capacity of 2x5 MW somewhere in Malinau, North Kalimantan. Chandra refused to unveil the amount of investment for the project as it has yet to achieve financial closing.

?If everything goes well, groundbreaking will be held in 2017. This is a small project, thus basically does not have much problem,? he said.
