Mitsubishi Heavy wins order for gas turbine power plant in Indonesia

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. said Tuesday it has won an order for a gas turbine combined-cycle power plant from PT. PLN(Persero), Indonesia's state power company, Kyodo News reported.

The value of the order is estimated at about 50 billion yen, according to a source familiar with the deal.

Mitsubishi said it is in talks with the governmental Japan Bank for International Cooperation and the state-backed Nippon Export and Investment Insurance to finance the project.

The power plant is scheduled to start generating power sometime between 2005 and the first half of 2006, it said.

The power plant, capable of generating 740,000 kilowatts, will consist of two gas turbines, one steam turbine and an exhaust heat recovery boiler, it said.(*)
