Mittal eyeing stake at N. Maluku nickel project

Global steel company ArcelorMittal is interested in forming a partnership with French miner Eramet for the latter's Weda Bay nickel mine project in North Maluku, CEO Lakshmi Mittal was quoted by French daily Les Echos.
The report did not give further detail.
Eramet will spend up to US$2 billion to bring the project onstream in 2013. .The mine will produce around 60,000 tons of nickel and 3,500 tons of cobalt per year.(*)
