Coal mining company PT Manambang Muara Enim (MME) has resumed coal exports after suspended such activities throughout 2014.

Edi Wibowo, Director of MME told Petromindo.com on Friday that the company exported 30,000 tons of coal to Cambodia in January 2015.

?We delivered four barges each with capacity 7,500 tons to Cambodia last month. This is our first export after exporting nothing at all in 20014,? he said adding that the Cambodian customer is a new client.

?Actually, they are requesting more coal, but we are still evaluating the request since we are focused on domestic market this year,? he said without elaborating the amount of the demand from the new client.

As the coal market is still weakened, the company is eyeing about one million ton production from its coal concession in Muara Enim South Sumatra this year. Last year, according to Edi, the company produced about 900,000 tons of coal.
