PT Manambang Muara Enim (MME), which operates coal mine in Bangko Barat, South Sumatra, said it has produced 900,000 tons of coal as per August of this year.

MME Director Agustinus Thamrin said on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 4th Annual Coal Buyers and Producers Conference held by Petromindo.com that his company is on track to meet this year?s production target of 1.2 million tons, up slightly from 1.05 million tons last year.

MME has a coal concession of about 1,584 hectares with estimated reserves of around 100 million tons. So far only 1 pit, around 200-ha, has entered production stage. Agustinus said that any increase in future production will depend on market development.

MME sells its coal to power plants at home as it had stopped export in the past years due to the downturn of the global market.
