MME says on track to meet full-year coal output target

Coal miner PT Manambang Muara Enim (MME), which operates coal mines in Muara Enim, South Sumatra Province, produced more than 300,000 tons of coal in the first quarter of this year.

MME Director Agustinus Thamrin said that with the first quarter production performance, the company is on track to meet the full-year output target of 1.2 million tons. ?We?re on track to meet the full-year production target,? he told Petromindo.com on Thursday. Last year, the company also produced 1.2 million tons.

MME operates a 1,584-ha coal concession in Muara Enim, with estimated reserves of around 100 million tons. So far, the company has been producing from a single pit of 200-ha. MME sells its coal to the domestic market particularly power plants.
