MME sets realistic target for 2014

Coal mining company PT Manambang Muara Enim (MME) sets a ?realistic? target for coal production in 2014 in view of the bearish outlook of the coal market.

Edi Wibowo, director of MME, told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the company is expecting to produce about one million tons in 2014 from its concession Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra.

He revealed that the company's target to produce 1.5 million ton of coal this year will not be achieved.

Edi said that as of the third quarter of this year, the company has produced about 700,000 tons. "We expect by the year's end we can only produce 1 million tons less than the target of 1.5 million tons," he said.

"We take a wait and see position. If in the middle of 2014 the market tends to recover, we would probably increase the output," he ended.
