PT MNC Investama Tbk, formerly known as PT Bhakti Investama Tbk, is seeking a partner to develop the company?s Semai III oil and gas block in Papua, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Friday.

The company?s director Darma Putra said in Jakarta on Thursday that the company which is controlled by media mogul Hary Tanoesoedibjo, was now in talks to form partnership with several major oil and gas companies such as Chevron, ExxonMobil, Genting Oil, and CNOOC.

Two years ago, MNC Investama took over PT Suma Sarana , which won the tender to develop Semai III block in 2008. Due to lack of experience in the oil and gas operations, MNC Investama is looking for more experienced partners to develop the block. (*)
