MNK to build power plant for E. Kalimantan industrial estate

Private power company PT Moa Maju Kurnia (MNK) plans to develop a 2x100 MW coal-fired power plant in East Kalimantan, the output of which to be provided for the Maloy industrial estate in the province, Antarakaltim.com reported.

The news portal said that MNK singed on Thursday a MoU with PT Kaltim Kawasan Industri Maloy (KKIM), the operator of the Maloy industrial estate, for the power supply.

The MoU was signed by MNK President Director Hasan Siato and KKIM Director Agus Dwitarto, witnessed among others by East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek. The report did not provide further details about the planned power plant project.

Awang said that the MNK power plant project forms part of the planned 1,000 MW power plants to be developed in East Kalimantan. (*)
