Mob burn PLN construction camp in Banten, forcing workers to flee

Local residents assisted by thugs on Saturday burned down a camp owned by state electricity firm PLN in Teluk Naga, Banten province, causing 103 workers including expatriates, who were working to construct a power plant, to flee.
PLN?s Director Murtaqi Syamsuddin told Petromindo.Com that all workers and project?s personnel had been evacuated and the company is coordinating with local police.
It?s not immediately clear why the mob conducted the arson.
PLN is building a 3x350MW coal-fired power plant in Teluk Naga with consortium of Chinese firm Dong Fang Electric Corporation-Dalle Energy as main contractor.
The power plant is part of the 10,000-MW power plant program the government is planning to build in Java.(godang)
