Mob burn SPE seismic tools in Madura

Angry villagers burned down seismic tools owned by a seismic contractor which is conducting seismic for SPE Petroleum in Madura PSC onshore Madura island, East Java.
According to local media reports, around one hundreds villagers in Sumenep regency on Saturday mobbed the seismic workers demanding that they stopped their activities and put seismic tools on fire.
According to the report, local council has ordered SPE, which is a unit of Chinese oil, gas giant CNPC to stop seismic activity as the council considered more information dissemination was needed prior to conducting seismic.
An SPE official said that the Company has reported the incident to local police. (*)
