Mobil Cepu Ltd. (MCL) stated the firm is still coordinating with relevant agencies for permits to use water of the Bengawan Solo river.

"The plan of using water from the Bengawan Solo river for the Banyu Urip field operation has been included in the PoD of the Banyu Urip project," VP of Public Relations and Government Affairs at ExxonMobil, Erwin Maryoto, told Petromindo.com on Monday.

He said, under the PoD, the water of Bengawan Solo will be taken in the rainy season and then stored in an artificial lake to be later injected to injection wells of Banyu Urip to keep the pressure of the reservoir when production begins.

"Taking water from Bengawan Solo will only be done in the rainy season when the water of the Bengawan Solo is above a certain level," he added.

Separately, VP Representative of ExxonMobil at SKK Migas, Anditya MT Ibrahim, told Petromindo.com, that for the purposes of drilling in the working area of MCL Cepu, the permit from the Ministry of Public Works in East Java has been obtained.
