Mobil Oil, Arun stop Lhokseumawe-Medan flights

Oil and gas company Mobil Oil Inc. and liquefied natural gas producer PT Arun NGL Co have decided to temporarily stop return flights from Medan, North Sumatra to Lhokseumawe, Aceh following the shooting of the aircraft chartered by Mobil Oil on Friday, Waspada daily reported.
A staff worker of PT Arun and a female worker of Mobil Oil said in Medan that it was not clear when the companies would resume the flights.
The press earlier reported that an aircraft carrying Mobil Oil's workers were shot by armed civilians at the Lhok Sukon airport Friday. Two passengers were injured during the incident.
Mobil's communication officer Julia Tumengkol told the paper via phone from Jakarta that the shooting occurred at 7.30 a.m. shortly after the aircraft reached the airport and before all the passengers were landed. The aircraft was chartered from Indonesian Air Transport. (*)
