Mobile Cepu seeking to ?revise? AMDAL of Banyu Urip

Mobile Cepu Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, is seeking to get approval from the Ministry of Environment for its plan to add some items (addendums) to its existing AMDAL environmental license document.

Julius Wiratno, Head of Bayu Urip Project Acceleration Project at upstream authority SKK Migas, said the firm is studying the addendums together with the regional central AMDAL team.

He said the addendums were meant to accommodate the firm?s plan to flare gas from the Wellpad B First Oil (WPBFO) of Banyu Urip.

?The gas flaring will happen around the clock over a period of one year at the rate of 23 mmscfd,? Julius said, adding that the gas flaring will be carried in August this year at the earliest.

A document made available to Petromindo.com indicates that MCL has proposed to produce firs oil from WPBFO in August this year, later than the initial schedule of May this year.

The Banyu Urip oil field is part of the Cepu block in Central and East Java, which is jointly operated by MCL and state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina.
