Three more bodies have been recovered from an Indonesian mine ravaged by a fire earlier this week, bringing to seven the number of confirmed dead.
PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) said on Saturday it had pulled the bodies from its Pongkor mine and that six people were still missing but feared dead.
"Six illegal miners and one employee are confirmed dead. We suspect around six people are left inside," Antam President Dedi Aditya Sumanagara told reporters.
Deadly fumes on Thursday snaked through hundreds of tunnels which believed came from fires in areas where the illegal miners were working at the mine near the city of Bogor, south of Jakarta, Antam officials have said. (*)
