More household gas networks to be built

The government has allocated Rp250 billion to support the development of household pipeline network in five cities this year, namely Sorong, Subang, Ogan Ilir, Blora and Sidoarjo.
?We expect local administrations to support this project by soon issuing the relevant permits,? said Director of Oil and Gas Downstream Business at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Umi Asngadah.
Within the next two months, Umi added, the tender process should have been completed and the construction commences.
According to Umi, during the 2009-2012 period, the Ministry has supported the development of a number of network enough to flow gas to 57,000 households in such cities as Palembang, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Depok, Tarakan, Bekasi, Bontang, Sengkang, Rusun Jabodetabek, Prabumulih, Jambi, Bogor and Cirebon.
