Turkey-based floating power plant maker Karpowership will soon start dispatching the four additional marine vessel power plants (MVPPs) ordered by Indonesia?s state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
Karpowership Indonesia Director Ufuk Berk was quoted by bisnis.com as saying Friday that the four MVPPs will start arriving in Indonesia from late November of this year until mid-next year.
He said that one MVPP with capacity of 110 MW is scheduled to arrive in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, late in November, in the hope that it could start operation before Christmas.
Other MVPPs will eventually arrive in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara; and in Belawan, North Sumatra.
PLN began operating one MVPP with capacity of 125 MW, leased from Karpowership, in January of this year, supplying electricity to the North Sulawesi and Gorontalo power grid. (*)
