More than 73% of FTP-1 power projects completed

More than 73 percent of the target to develop a total of 9,975 MW power plants under the first-phase of the government?s Fast Track Program (FTP-1) has been completed, according to a senior official at state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.

Endang Sugiarto, a manager at PLN, said at a recent Indonesia IPP and Electricity Conference that as of November of this year, about 7,367 MW under the FTP-1 have been in operational phase.

He said that by end of this year, about 84 percent, or 8,444.5 MW would be completed.

The FTP-1 comprises of developing 37 power plants. Per November, about 1,724 MW of the projects are still in commissioning stage, and another 835 MW in construction phase.

"Two coal fired power plants, namely(PLTU Selat Panjang (2x10 MW) and PLTU Bengkalis (2x7 MW) were terminated," Endang said, without elaborating the reason of the termination.
